The SMART model uses the Armington elasticity framework with WITS API data. Results are partial equilibrium estimates. Tariff data is sourced from UNCTAD TRAINS where available, falling back to database estimates.
3
View Export Potential

For each product, the platform calculates an Export Potential Score (0–100) using a multi-source data strategy:

  • Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA): Based on export specialisation patterns
  • Market Size & Growth: Demand indicators from partner countries
  • Tariff Preference Margins: How much AfCFTA reduces barriers vs. MFN rates
  • Rules of Origin Compliance: Whether production meets AfCFTA value-addition thresholds
You can also import/export data via Excel/CSV. Download a template, fill in your trade data offline, then upload it for bulk processing.
7. Tool B: Enabling Environment Monitoring
1
Start a Survey

Tool B assesses your country's trade facilitation readiness through a structured survey with 32 questions:

localhost/aida-impact-app/data_entry.php
